Ideas · Write with us

You write it. We get it read.

Ideas is open to people who already write. If you’re building something and you think in public about it, or you’re watching this market closely and have something worth saying, send us the piece.

What we bring isn’t editing. It’s distribution — the thing most good writing about African tech never gets. We put your work in front of founders, operators, investors and press across the continent and beyond, through our channels, our community, and the people we know.

We’re interested in the specific over the general. What you saw. What surprised you. What the numbers looked like from inside. Writing that could only have come from you.

What we publish

Startups and the work of building them. Capital — where it comes from, what it costs, who it reaches. Culture, and how it moves. What building for the African market actually demands, as opposed to what people assume it demands.

What we don’t

Press releases wearing an essay’s clothes. Thought leadership with no thought in it. Anything you could have written without being here. First drafts — send us work you’d be happy to see published as it stands.

How it works

Send a finished piece. We read everything. If it’s right for Ideas, we publish it with your name, your photo and your links, and we push it out. We may suggest a light edit; we won’t rewrite you.

Google Doc, Notion, anywhere we can read it. Set sharing to ‘anyone with the link’.

A link or two, if you have them.
